UPDATED 7/30/08: The premiere episode, "The Second Coming," was screened at the Comic-Con International in San Diego on Saturday, July 26... so of course, there are SPOILERS. Read at your own risk. Keep in mind this episode is very, very good - on the level of Heroes Season 1 - so you’ll want to see it for yourself!
- The episode does indeed start in the future with Claire and Peter, and it is the Peter from four years from now who travels back in time (using Hiro’s power), and he is the one who shoots Nathan.
- Sylar attacks Claire and we learn more about how his powers work. No, he doesn’t eat brains - "That’s disgusting," he tells her.
- Niki is still alive and is a call girl named "Tracey," who is spending time around Bruce Boxleitner’s senator character.
- Hiro travels to the future and sees a lot of destruction; he also sees ANDO using powers!
- Angela Petrelli knows that it’s the Future Peter posing as her son.
- Nathan believes that his survival of the shooting is a religious experience and finds a new calling and goal. He also thinks it is Linderman who saved his life. (Malcolm McDowell appears)
- Mohinder discovers the source of the Heroes’ power, and learns how to get powers for himself. Maya is not happy with this as she thought he would be able to cure her.
- Future-Claire tells Peter that she loves him... and it didn’t really sound like she meant it in a familial way.
- Some recurring characters do not appear in this episode; at least not in the first hour that was screened. Those characters include Elle, Bob, Molly Walker, and Micah.
UPDATED 7/1/08: Season Three will begin four years in the future, and then we will return to right where Season Two left off, learning what happened when Nathan was shot. (Source: CBR)
UPDATED 4/11/08: Mike Ausiello of TV Guide has revealed that this episode will introduce two new characters - Joy, a character in her early twenties, described as "quick on her feet and adept at getting herself into and out of trouble." The other new character, Senator Robert Malden, is a political straight shooter in his 50’s.
