Reception

U.S. Nielsen ratings

The first episode of the show was watched by 3.65 million viewers, coming in last place in its 9:00 p.m. timeslot on Wednesday nights.[28] Despite this, the show was noted to have held the best audience retention of America’s Next Top Model in spite of a decline of 30% in the advertiser-craved 18-49 demographic and in total viewers.[29] The show wasn’t able to cling to its viewers in its second outing, however, losing more than half of ANTM’s audience and 22% of its own debut numbers in the face of strong competition from other shows such as ABC’s Private Practice and NBC’s Bionic Woman each of which made impressive debuts that night.[30]

iTunes

Before the series officially made its debut on air, the first episode was made available as a free download on iTunes.
With its current struggle for ratings, CW entertainment’s president Dawn Ostroff alluded to the fact that strong sales on iTunes was a deciding factor in the series being picked up for a full season.[50]

Critical response

Gossip Girl received mixed reviews. Due to the show’s pedigree as an adaptation of the New York Times bestselling novel series, the show was considered to be one of the more anticipated new shows of the 2007-2008 television season. An August 2007 survey by OTX, a global media research and consulting firm, placed the show on the list of top ten new shows that viewers were aware of.[51] Though the pilot was the recipient of positive reviews from publications such as Variety, Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle and the Boston Globe, other reviewers described it as a guilty pleasure rather than an hour’s worth of must-watch television.[52][53][54][55] Metacritic gave it a score of 54, based on the reviews of 26 different publications.[56] However, author Cecily von Ziegesar has expressed support for the show, noting that all of her major plot points were present in the pilot.[57] The Parents Television Council has shown particular criticism of the series, especially with its "OMFG" ad campaign from April 2008.[58] It also named the episode "Victor/Victrola" the worst television program of the week in which the episode originally was broadcast.[59] These critical reviews are now on new Season 2 advertisements, featuring the San Diego Union-Tribune , Parents Television Council, New York Post and the Boston Herald.

Supernatural : Plot Story

Labels:

Supernatural is an American cult[citation needed] dramatic television series regarding the paranormal. The series, which is filmed in Vancouver, Canada, debuted on September 13, 2005 on the WB, and is now part of The CW’s lineup. The second season premiered on September 28, 2006, and the third season premiered on October 4, 2007. Supernatural returned on April 24, 2008[1] after the writers strike. On March 3, 2008, the CW announced the pickup of the show for a fourth season.[2]
The show follows brothers Sam Winchester and Dean Winchester, played by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles respectively, who travel across the country in a black 1967 Chevy Impala investigating and combating paranormal events and other unexplained occurrences, many of them based on American urban legends and folklore, as well as classic supernatural creatures such as vampires, werewolves, and ghosts.
Eric Kripke, the show’s creator, cites Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman and American Gods as influences on Supernatural, along with American Werewolf in London and Joseph Campbell’s The Hero’s Journey.[3]

Plot

The plot of the show has evolved over time, beginning initially with Sam and Dean looking for their father throughout most of Season One. Once they find him, the show becomes about killing Azazel, the demon responsible for the death of their mother. This is accomplished, but not until after Azazel’s plans are completed and a door to Hell is opened, although only momentarily, releasing a horde of demons into the world. This event also sees the death of Sam, who is subsequently resurrected by Dean selling his soul at the end of Season Two. In Season Three, the plot of the show focuses on trying to save Dean from his deal. Along the way, they meet a demon named Ruby, who has an interest in Sam and claims to be able to help save Dean, as well as Bela Talbot, an "acquirer" and seller of occult objects who is constantly a thorn in their side. The brothers eventually manage to track down the demon who holds Dean’s contract, a powerhouse named Lilith who also wants Sam dead. However, Sam and Ruby ultimately fail to save Dean, who, as of the end of Season Three, is in Hell.

Yoon Eun-Hye Biography

Labels:

Yoon, Eun-Hye (born October 3, 1984) is a South Korean actress, singer, and model. She first known as a member of the popular girl group Baby V.O.X, staying with the group from 1999 - 2005. She has since moved on to acting, receiving popularity and fame from her role as a crown princess on the drama Princess Hours, also known as "Goong", as well as her role as the main protagonist in the highly successful drama, The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince.
In addition to her acting and singing, Yoon Eun-Hye graduated from Kyung Hee Cyber University in February 2007, receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, specializing in Tourism Management. [1]

Baby V.O.X. days

Main article: Baby V.O.X
When the girl group Baby V.O.X discharged a member due to a scandal, Yoon Eun-Hye was chosen to replace her. Yoon Eun-Hye was by far the youngest member in the group, debuting at the age of 15. She recorded four albums with the band before leaving the group in July 2005[2] in order to pursue an acting career. While with the group, Eun-Hye quickly became known as the "cute" one not only for her young age, but because of her bright personality. However, she was also criticized for her weight, as she looked overweight compared to very slim another band members. Although she debuted a new, skinnier body in early 2005, she appeared to be experiencing a "yoyo" effect, as noted by various Korean netizens.[3]
Eun-Hye suffered in the hands of criticist Baby V.O.X. when she joined the group to produce their third album. In a water gun incident, Baby V.O.X. was scheduled to appear on Gyun-Ahn Broadcasts Music Engine and was waiting inside their van when Eun-Hye was shot by a water gun by an unidentified man. The man pretended to be a passionate fan of the group and attempted to offer a Pikachu doll as a present. Suddenly, he took out a water gun and shot Yoon Eun-Hye right in the eye before fleeing. After being shot, Eun-Hye expressed severe pain and could not open her eyes for a long period of time. Baby V.O.X. had to cancel their performance and Eun-Hye was taken straight to the hospital. There, Eun-Hye was informed that her cornea was damaged. The members of the group claimed they smelled soy sauce and vinegar from the water that came out of the water pistol. No further information regarding this incident was released.[4]

Music career

Besides singing in the band, Baby V.O.X, Yoon Eun-Hye lent her voice to Mighty Mouth, for their song ’Sarang Hae,’ better known as ’I Love You.’ She however, DOES NOT appear in the music video.

Acting career

Yoon Eun-Hye has played a small role on the sitcom "Nonstop Four", where she had a small role with MC Mong, before moving on to became a regular guest for the variety show X-Man on . While on "X-Man", she became involved in a romantic scandal with popular K-pop singer Kim Jong Kook which received coverage from a local newspaper. Although "X-Man" raised her public profile, she left the show a year later in order to pursue acting. Eun Hye also played Kim Jong Kook’s love interest in his music video "Saying You Love Me" which was released in July 2006.
Eun Hye had her first major acting role in popular Korean drama, Princess Hours (also known as Goong). Initially, however, fans of Goong had questioned her acting ability leading to controversy.[5][6] The success of the drama also appeared unclear as it competed with My Girl which also boasted casting of popular celebrities such as Lee Jun Ki and Lee Dong Wook.[7] The drama began with average ratings, but as it continued, viewership increased to 28.3% nationally, leading to an extension of the first season (from 20 to 24 episodes) and a Princess Hours special on MBC. Although Yoon and the other main actors initially agreed to work on a second season of Princess Hours, only one of them officially agreed to do so. Another director of a different company eventually filmed a spin-off series with brand new characters, known as Goong S which was not to be confused with the actual Goong sequel planned by the original director and company.
Due to the success of her first drama, Eun Hye has been able to continue acting in other dramas such as The Vineyard Man. Like most Korean dramas at that time[citation needed], The Vineyard Man initially suffered from low ratings due to strong competition from the MBC 45th anniversary drama Jumong; however, the drama ratings gradually increased and reached a successful 15.6% on its finale.
Eun Hye returned in the lead actress role for MBC’s Monday/Tuesday drama "The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince" that started airing in July 2007. In this drama, Yoon plays an employee ’Go Eun-chan’ at a coffee shop, who was once a master of Taekwondo. With her short haircut and tomboyish ways, she is presumed to be a boy by the owner of the shop, thus leading to romantic complications.[8] The 1st Shop of Coffee Prince garnered higher ratings than her first series Princess Hours. Coffee Prince reached the viewership ratings as high as 32.1% in Seoul, making it number one for it’s timeslot in MBC and 29.9% nationwide
It has been reported that Eun Hye has been paid 20 million won per episode for starring in Coffee Prince, enabling her to join Korea’s A-list of stars who also are members of the 20 million won club. This "club" consists of Bae Yong-joon, Kwon Sang Woo, Ko Hyun Jung, Song Il kook and Yoon Eun Hye, to name a few.

Controversy with management

The chance for Yoon Eun Hye to act in Goong 2, if it is ever produced, seems unlikely because she has feuded with her management company, Eight Peaks which is producing Goong.
Eun Hye, who has gained enormous popularity through her role in "Coffee Prince", had filed the second certification of contents (COC) to cancel her contractual agreement with her management company, Eight Peaks. When asked to reveal the information behind the second COC, Eun Hye’s counsel stated, "if Eight Peaks refused to cancel the contract then they would not hesitate to file a lawsuit, suing them for their refusal."
The contents of the first COC stated that in January 2007 Eun Hye was confirmed to be starring in the MBC drama "Que Sera Sera" and had even participated and completed the script reading and rehearsal for the upcoming shoot. However, Eight Peaks had canceled Eun Hye’s involvement in QSS in order for Yoon to star in Eight Peaks’ self produced drama.
Consequently, after the cancellation of Eun Hye’s QSS involvement, Eun Hye took a two day vacation to Kangwon-do in March. Eight Peaks claimed that they had no knowledge of this so-called incident and spread a rumor of Eun Hye’s irresponsibility online which damaged her reputation.
Yoon’s manager, Park Geun-Soo has stated "the second COC includes evidence to support the disagreeable actions made by Eight Peaks." Those actions included the improper handling and distribution/division of earnings and proceeds as well as the unilateral (one-sided) manner of making and carrying out decisions which caused immense problems.[9]
It had been reported that, while Eun Hye was enjoying enormous fame and popularity through her role in the "Coffee Prince", she was suffering mental and emotional problems from the conflicts with Eight Peaks.
Yoon has been diagnosed with Pernicious anemia.[10][11]

New management

After having settled the disputes with Eight Peaks through careful negotiation, Eun Hye then signed with her new management agency, Kraze Entertainment. As a result, Eun Hye was able to focus on her acting career, which will be Kraze Entertainment’s focal point of attention.
Her successful performance in ’Coffee Prince’, has put her in the list of being one of the best actresses in Korean entertainment.[12]

Gossip Girl now airing on Trans-7, Indonesia. Personally, I’m curious about who is the most favorite or most wanted cast on Gossip Girl. Again, using Google Trends, I try to find the winner. I’m delimitating this simple research only four Gossip Girl casts. There are Blake Lively (Serena van der Woodsen), Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass), Chace Crawford ( Nate Archibald), Leighton Meester ( Blair Waldorf).
Details of this research is this according how many keyword that search those cast in several countries and cities or regions. And held from 2004 until 2008. Please click the graphic below to more clear info :

themostpopularcast1

From a graphic above, the conclusion is look like Blake Lively who portrayed Serena van der Woodsen become the winner. After Blake, respectively Chace Crawford ( Nate Archibald), Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) and the last Ed Westwick (Chuck Bass). Ed became not popular maybe in this series, he portrayed antagonist character. A bad guy type. Unfortunately, I was forgot to add Pen Badgley ) on these lists. Sorry ! For next articles maybe I will be researched about who is the most popular between main cast on Smallville, Supernatural, Heroes, and Gossip Girl. Or maybe you have a good idea to share ?

Supernatural : Production Notes

Labels:

Production notes

Supernatural is a Warner Bros. Television Production Inc., in association with Wonderland Sound and Vision. From executive producers McG and Peter Johnson with writer/executive producer/creator Eric Kripke and director/executive producer David Nutter. Though the pilot was filmed in California, principal filming takes place in Vancouver, British Columbia[8] with post production work taking place in California.[citation needed]
Production was halted on December 5th upon completion of twelfth episode due to the 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike. Originally twenty-two episodes were ordered for the third season, but the season number was shortened down to sixteen episodes, with four new episodes airing in April and May of 2008.[1]
Like other recent TV dramas such as Lost, the show does not have an opening credit sequence or theme music, but instead only a title card, generally following a brief recap of previous episodes and the current episode’s opening scene. In Season One, the "Supernatural" logo is a flickering aqua-blue text. In Season Two, it appears in flames and the "A" becomes a pentagram. In Season Three, "Supernatural" is a moving silvery text against a background of clouds of spirits. Beginning with the first season episode "Scarecrow", the name of each episode appears before the cast credits.
A "previously" sequence before each episode highlights a montage of past events. This may be scored to a classic rock song, particularly when the episode is important to the story arc. This was first done with the episode "Salvation", in which the entire season was recapped to Kansas’s "Carry On Wayward Son".[9] This continued with the second and third season finales.
The production team also created a "coming soon" sequence midway through Season Two, set to Nazareth’s "Hair of the Dog".
Series creator Eric Kripke has stated that the series’ storyline is planned out for five seasons, and that he hopes to end it there on a high note.[10]

The Impressive Fighting on Smallville

Labels:

After had watched Smallville from Season 1 until Season 7, I collect impressives fighting on Smallville. Although personally, I thought that Smallville in somehow had a few actions. Actually, I think it will great if Smallville has more actions scenes and special effects. Let’s start season to season :

Season 3

Jonathan Kent vs Clark

To avoid Jor-El, Clark was run away to Metropolis. Three months in there, he did a lot crimes actions including rob banks, break ATM etc. To stop him, Jonathan made a deal with Jor-El. Jor-El lend Kryptonian power to Jon, then the father-son fighting began.

Alexander vs Lex

Lex separate into two person with different personalities. Alexander who evil and good Lex. Alexander captivate Lex and attack Clark.

Season 4

Lana vs Clark

Lana possessed by her grand mother spirit and compete with Clark, Lex and Jason to get three element. In China, Lana and Clark fight. Clark almost kill cause one of his weakness is magic.

Season 5

Clark vs Lex

Lex kidnapped by Brainiac and immunize with antivirus that created by himself. And as a addition, he got all Kryptonian power. Lex came over Clark who get order from Jor-El to kill Lex. The two nemesis finally fighting ( although it seem anticlimax or unfinished).

Season 6

Lex vs Oliver

Lex angry cause something attack him and Lana. Felt that Oliver is a man behind that attack, Lex came over him and they are fight. Honestly, I’m very happy look somebody kick Lex ass, cause he steal Lana and Lana is moron, believe someone like Lex can be trusted.

Clark vs Titan

Titan is one of Zoners from Phantom Zone. A fight thirsty warriors who looking for a great fighter. It is a bloody and impressive fight that I have ever see on Smallville. The broken heart Clark, looking a release for his anger came over Titan. A giant Titan and Clark fight it out.

The Justice break through Lex factory

Lex arrest The Impulse. Clark try to save him and find out that he collapsed by kryptonite. The Justice come to save them and booming the factory. And off the screen, they around the world to ruin Lex’s 33.1 projects. It’s awesome. He need somebody to give him a lesson.

Clark vs Bizzarro

Bizzarro really almost overcome Clark who shock facing enemies that almost like him.  But, in season 7 the fight between them again, anticlimax or unfinished.

Season 7

Lex vs Green Arrow

The fight between them remind me about kung fu action style. You know, two enemies holding onto other weapon while they fighting each other and Green Arrow use Lex’s gun to shoot Lex bodyguard. It’s like Hong Kong’s action movies typical. I thing is cool. And it is becoming more when Black Canary had a hand in their fighting. And when the two vigilantes trie to kill Lex while Lex tries to kill both of them, Clark come and save the two but letting Lex hurt.

I was forgot about season 1 and 2. Maybe there is some impressive fight in those seasons. In  the end, I think that the most impressive fighting among all is Clark vs Titan. How about you ? Do you have different opinion ? What is the most impressive fight in your opinion ?

Gossip Girl : Preface

Labels:

Gossip Girl is an American television teen drama based on the popular novel series of the same name written by Cecily von Ziegesar. Gossip Girl revolves around the lives of socialite young adults growing up on New York’s Upper East Side who attend elite academic institutions while dealing with sex, drugs, jealousy, and other teenage issues. Featuring an ensemble cast, the series begins by introducing Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) and best friend Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester), as well as Blair’s on-off boyfriend Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford), Nate’s best friend Chuck Bass (Ed Westwick), Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley), who dated Serena during most of the first season, Jenny Humphrey (Taylor Momsen), who become involved in the lives of the main characters despite being less inclined to merge with the upper-east-side crowd and Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szohr) who is a best friend of Dan. The series is narrated by a seemingly omniscient character, "Gossip Girl" (voiced by Kristen Bell), who runs a blog about her fellow Upper East Siders - consequently stirring the pot and creating potential rivalries in this exclusive and vicious circle of friends.[1] The show was developed by Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who also serve as executive producers alongside Bob Levy and Leslie Morgenstein.[2] It is produced by Warner Bros. Television, College Hill Productions and Alloy Entertainment.

The series first aired on September 18, 2007 in Canada on CTV before premiering in the U.S. a day later on September 19, 2007 on The CW, following America’s Next Top Model.[1][3] The premiere episode also became available on the iTunes Store as a free download on September 14, 2007, four days before the series’ debut. The show received the first full season order of 22 episodes of the 2007/2008 television season of the five major broadcast networks when The CW picked it up in October 2007.[4]

Gossip Girl returned on Monday, April 21, 2008, with five new episodes to follow.[5] The CW announced on March 3, 2008 that Gossip Girl would return for a second season consisting of 24 episodes.[6] In Canada, CTV will send the series down to the relaunched A-Channel for the second season, Sundays at 8:00PM Eastern/7:00PM Central.

The second season is set to premiere September 1, 2008 on The CW.
